Be sure to check back next week as I journey down the road to a healthier new me! Also, be sure to leave me a link to your blog so we can help hold each other accountable, give each other support and encouragement ![]()

Weight Watchers Weigh In #2
Today was my weekly weigh in on Weight Watchers. I normally try to have my hubby do the recording, but we had to get up for church early this morning since he was doing sound and I am learning how to do the overheads, so we didn’t have time. I think I like the way I did it this week though. What do you think?
Here’s hoping for a loss next week ![]()

Weight Watchers One Week Check In
I just wanted to check in to let you all know how I’m doing. Today I’ve been on WW for exactly one week. For those of you who don’t know, I changed my weigh in day to Sunday, just because it’s the beginning of a new week and I can weigh in right before church. I’m recording my weigh ins on video, so normally someone will be here to do the recording and I will be showered, with hair and make up done…a plus for YOU.
Well, with all the excitement this week (my first grand daughter was born Sunday) and through eating on the run and at the hospital I managed to keep track of my points and to stay within my daily allotment, or at least not use all of my weekly extra points…yet. Ha. No, but now that Remmy’s home, I’ll definitely be able to control what I eat more and stay within my daily allowed without using the extra points.
I have made some healthier choices which I’m quite proud of, like eating apples and oranges instead of chips. Why do I love chips so much? Why oh why?!? I did have some kettle cooked potato chips yesterday, but I did count out the serving (3 points for 18 chips). I am going to have some popcorn tonight as a snack instead and will try to choose popcorn over chips from now on.
I do love eating less. Tonight I made a pot roast in the crock pot, along with some potatoes and corn. Back in the day I would eat a huge heaping chunk of meat, at least 2 potatoes smothered in butter and sour cream and, I don’t know, a ton of corn slathered in butter. Tonight I had 2 ounces of meat, 1 potato with no butter or sour cream, just pepper, and 1/2 cup of corn with 2 tsp butter. It was so good and I am so full! I had a salad for lunch and a fiber bar for breakfast, so I still have 13.5 points to use today.
Uh, need to get back on schedule with the exercise though. Will really work at doing that tomorrow, barring any unforeseen occurrences, like having to run my son to an appointment or something like that.
Well, that’s my weekly check in for this week. I’ll try to stop by periodically as I feel so lead to update and check in.
How are you doing with your weight loss goals?

Reaching for Excellence: Losing Weight
(*Sigh*) As part of my new motto for 2010, “Reaching for Excellence”, I made the decision to join Weight Watchers online again. My blogging friend, Too Many Hats, and my friend Tishia Lee, have both inspired me to get back on the weight loss bandwagon. I know I eat way to much and way too unhealthily, and I know following a plan like Weight Watchers helps me maintain and stay in control of both of those. So, each week I will be posting my weight loss progress here. Am I going to get as brave as Tishia and post my weigh-ins on video? Yikes!!! But, since I’ve chosen my weigh-in day on Sunday, I can be showered and have makeup on when I do my weigh in.
So, perhaps…I’ll have to get really brave though. I don’t think my hubby knows my actual weight, which is something I’ll have to get over. Plus he will probably make me confess it as soon as he reads this anyway…..(Love you hunny!!!!). We are both working on self-improvement and he knows I’m working on being more confident, so recording my weigh-ins will really help me in that area….ha!!!
Well, before I ramble on anymore, I suppose I should start by telling you my weight today, since I’m officially starting today…though from here on out I will weigh in on Sundays…I chose Sunday as my weigh-in day because it’s the beginning of a new week, a chance to start over…know what I mean? I’m rambling again. Okay, are you ready? I’m not. Ha.
Today’s weight, my starting weight is……drum roll please…..221.4. There I did it. Ugh. It’s out there for the whole world to see….not like you couldn’t tell anyway…hello, it’s not like I can hide my weight from anyone. It’s pretty obvious I’m….obese. Ugh. I hate that word. But, I am. (The photo below is the only one I could find with some of my body in it…LOL)
But, you know what, I think it’s pretty freeing to get it out there, confess it if you will. So, now I am looking to you all for support and accountability
Will you do that for me?
Though it won’t be a full week, Sunday I will weigh myself. I will have my hubby video tape it and then I’ll post it here on my blog.
OH! And another thing I would like to ask for accountability for is my Fat Loss Quickie workout sessions. Need to make sure I get those in every week day. Thanks, and if you’re going to help hold me accountable, will you let me know in the comments? Thanks so much. Oh and if I you’re reaching for excellence and trying to eat healthier and workout, let me know that too, so I can support and help you too ![]()

Weight Loss Progress
I figured I would let you all know how I’m doing on my weight loss, cuz I know you’re dying to know! LOL. I weighed myself yesterday afternoon and I lost 3 lbs. I was pretty excited about it. I’ve been trying to eat smaller portions and healthier foods like salads and raw veggies. I also worked out today! Karlie made me get my butt off the couch and do a dance video with her! LOL. But it felt really good!!! I’m happy that I did!
I really think the thing that helps me the most is having the photo from Weight View on my desk top with the 50 lbs. shaved off with their photo magic! It really does motivate me to look like that!
The other thing that is working is sharing my results with the world here and at Open Talk Mom Ning Site. Knowing I started this, I don’t want to give up and quit or go back on my word. Does that make sense?
Here is my photo from Weight View! I can’t wait to look like this!!!

Using the Internet for Weight Loss Success
As most of you know and for those who don’t know, I am fat! LOL. Not funny that I’m fat, but do you like how I just come out and say “I’m fat”? Well I am. I love everyone who says “You’re not fat”, but come on, I am about 80 lbs overweight and have had it. I’m over it. I am ready to get this extra poundage off and start eating healthy and exercising!!! I’ve already started and have been doing it for 3 days now.
So, what am I doing to lose weight? Oh, you want to know? Okay! No, not some fad diet (I hate the word diet anyway!) and diets don’t work. Oh sure you might take off some weight, but unless you really change your eating habits and lifestyle, you aren’t likely to keep it off. I’ve successfully lost weight in the past on those diets, but obviously I didn’t keep it off. Why? Because I didn’t change my thinking about food and what I was putting in my body. I knew what I could and couldn’t eat and how much I could eat to take the weight off, but I didn’t stick to a healthy eating plan after I took the weight off. For some reason I thought that once I was at a decent weight, I could go back to eating like I was and wouldn’t gain it back. How silly is that?! Have any of you ever done that??? And quite frankly I get tired of eating “diet” food. I got tired of measuring and counting and all that stuff you have to do on a “diet”. When I am hungry I just want to get something that tastes good to eat! Period.
Well that’s where the mindset has to change! And that’s where meal planning comes in. A little thing called discipline. I wish I had one of those personalities where I planned everything automatically, it was a way of life for me. But, I don’t. I have the personality type where I am spontaneous, fly at the seat of my pants on a wing and a prayer. I do have a little bit of planner in me, but the spontaneity usually over rules the plan. I am good at thinking things through to see the most likely end result and I am organized but I like to have fun, and often if something fun comes up, it over rules doing something not as fun.
What I’m getting at is meal planning is an effort for me. Planning meals ahead of time takes a conscious effort and I don’t always take the time necessary to plan meals properly like I should. But, I am going to work at!!! This week when I went grocery shopping, I picked up a ton of veggies for salads, and I made a big bowl of salad that is convenient for lunch or dinner. That’s what I had yesterday as a matter of fact, for lunch and dinner. For dinner though I added some ham and turkey and cheese for extra protein. It was yummy!!! And easy, since the salad was already prepared!
There is a great article called Healthy Weight Loss Success you can get for FREE here: Free New Years Success Pack for Moms. There are also other great menu planning ideas and guides there you can check out as well!
I’ve also been keeping a journal on a social networking site (Ning) called Open Talk Mom. I’ve posted my before picture (what I look like now) ugh, and on my blog there I posted my current weight and my goals. I’ve been journaling every day what I eat, how much water I drink and any exercise I’ve done (not much!!!). I will tell you that having that picture is a BIG motivator for me!!! I hate looking at it!!! You can join Open Talk Mom Ning site as well and use it to record your weight loss progress too, meet other mom’s who are losing weight and all kinds of fun stuff!
I also went to Weight View and had a virtual weight loss picture created for me. Using the “before” photo I mentioned above,Weight View created a picture of me 50 lbs thinner. I have it on my desk top. Weight View is free to use and you can get a picture of you with whatever amount of weight you want to lose too. The highest they go is 50 lbs. though. But, what a difference 50 lbs. makes!!!
Another thing I’m doing to help motivate me is I receive a weekly newsletter from Your Total Wellbeing. It’s free as well. Yep free! When you go to that page, a pop up box will appear where you sign up to receive the weekly newsletter in your email. They have great tips and recipes to help you on your way to a thinner you! You also get a free 32 page ebook all about metabolism; what it is and how it affects you!
Good stuff that will help get you started, keep you motivated and reach your weight loss goals!!! I encourage you to click on all of the links above and check out all the free information available to you, literally at your finger tips!!! I did and now I’m motivated and really on my way to weight loss success!!!
