My Last Ever(?) Back to School Shopping Trip

My 17 year old baby is entering her Senior year of high school this year, so it’s officially my last back to school season. (College is a whole different ball game, so I’m not counting that.)
Today, my daughter and one of her friends and I went to the mall in TC. It’s about an hour and a half drive from home and we left at 10. We usually never take trips to the mall, just Karlie and I; we usually make it a huge family event and it ends up being kind of stressful because this person wants to go here and that one wants to go there and for some reason they all need me…probably because I have the debit card, LOL. Anyway, today’s shopping trip was much more relaxed and we had a great time!
The first store we stopped in was a shoe store and I found a really cute pair of mocassin style wedges that I can wear with capris, jeans or even skirts for only $10! That store also had get $25 off every $100 so Karlie got a cute pair of docksiders (yes, they are back in style now) and I got a pair of loafers.
After that I headed to a women’s clothing store in search for bras. Yes, I said bras here on my blog. Sorry goes out to any fella’s reading. I found two really cute ones that fit really well. They were buy one get the 2nd half off.
Karlie and her friend were across the way (Karlie made fun of me for saying “across the way” at the mall…lol) at another store that I don’t like very much. She didn’t find anything there, so on we went to a few other places and found ourselves at another shoe store! This store also had buy one get one free, so Karlie and I each got another pair of shoes. I found a super cute pair of black wedges I can wear casual or dress up, and she found a cute pair of black mocassins. Oh, and Karlie and her friend both thought the guy who checked us out (no pun intended) was cute! LOL.
Then we went to a store that carries slightly irregular brand names at a discounted price and Karlie and her friend tried on dresses that they had no intention of buying. They just wanted to see what they looked like on. Some of the dresses were kind of ugly on the hanger, but when they put them on, they were actually pretty cute! I took a couple of shots of them with the dresses on with Karlie’s phone…they may make it on Facebook later. Karlie did find a sweater there for $20, and I didn’t get anything.
We hit a few more stores and Karlie found some jeans, buy one get one 1/2 off again, another cute sweater, a cute shawl like thing with sleeves though that she can wear over different tops, 2 tank tops and we got some make up and a free makeup bag with purchase that had some sample size products in it!
So, overall we got some pretty good deals and had a great time. We ended the day at Cracker Barrel, one of my favorite restaurants! I ate 1/2 my dinner and brought the rest home for Jeff. He was happy.
